Dr Aristides Kiprakis
Aristides is a Senior Lecturer in Power Systems and Director of the MSc in Advanced Power Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh. He leads the Agile Energy Systems Research Group, conducting research into embedding intelligence in the energy supply ecosystem to improve its efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint. He has worked on topics including renewable energy conversion and integration, smart grids, energy storage, demand management, robotics and smart materials for energy applications. At the School of Engineering Aristides teaches control systems and renewable energy, while he is also a committed STEM Ambassador for East Scotland.
